Over the weekend it was announced that the Fifa World Cup in 2026 will be held at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey and I can already imagine the underwhelming expression on tourist's faces when they pull up to a colossal parking lot. It seems like the organizers might have jokingly suggested, "Let's provide everyone with a genuine American experience."
In today’s edition:
Win a 3-day glamping trip to Moab

Japan Set To Introduce New Digital Nomad Visas
|
Japan is set to open its borders to digital nomads, which is perfect for me and my constant craving for escapism and a new thrill. Extended stays in Japan, beyond the 90-day tourist visa, now allow remote work for six months without Japanese employment.Â
The initiative applies to remote workers from 49 countries, including the US, which is a big move for the traditionally strict country.Â
🇯🇵 Who can apply?
To qualify for the digital nomad visa you must earn ÂĄ10 million (US$68,300) or more annually and maintain private health insurance. Children and spouses are allowed, provided they also have private medical coverage. Applicants are not permitted to rent long-term accommodations, nor will they qualify for residency.
Nomad List reports around 35 million global digital nomads, predominantly from North America and Europe. Tokyo, listed among the world's top 10 most-visited remote work hubs last year and the fastest-growing, is likely to attract a surge of new digital nomads. The new program is expected to be operational by the end of March.

10 Caribbean Countries and Destinations for Every Kind of Traveler
|
As travelers, we’re guilty of throwing the Caribbean into one big umbrella term. There’s sun, sea, and resorts—they’re basically all the same, right? Wrong.Â
It’s a disservice to the 13 Caribbean countries, 21 overseas territories, and more than 700 islands to view them as such when they each boast a unique culture that springs to life in the form of food, customs, and natural wonder.
Before you book your next Caribbean destinations getaway, consider what you really want from your trip, and you might find your destination exceeds any expectations you held. To help, here are 10 Caribbean destinations for every kind of traveler, from foodies to adrenaline junkies. Of course, there’s major crossover for virtually all of the suggestions; it’s just advice.

Southwest Airlines Seats and Cabin Get a MakeoverÂ
|
Southwest recently unveiled its new interior and seat design to bring a more modern look and add comfort for passengers. However, based on travelers' reactions, they might have completely missed the mark and sparked some serious responses, fairly so, in my opinion.
Southwest partnered with Tangerine, a top transportation design company, for a refreshed cabin interior for new aircraft starting next year. The upgraded seats feature multi-adjustable headrest cushions and an ergonomic design for better comfort, maximizing seat width and overall support. Additionally, each seat now includes a personal electronic device holder for easier access to free Inflight Entertainment on customers' devices.
💺 What are people saying?
If Southwest believed they hit a home run with the introduction of their new seats, they may have overlooked the brutally honest nature of the internet. Nothing escapes the scrutiny of Twitter fingers or TikTok's comment section enthusiasts.Â
Many are saying the new seats don’t provide any comfort at all with comments like, "Are the improvements on board with us?" and "So you made smaller and thinner seats?" I could go on and on in hysterics, but I’ll let you read the rest of the comments. Nice early April Fools' joke, Southwest!
🛫 Other changes
The seats aren’t the only thing Southwest is changing. The airline is also refreshing staff uniforms and adding onboard power ports and larger overhead bins to its existing Boeing 737 MAX 8 and -800s. It’s not entirely clear why the airline is making these updates, but it’s possible that it could be attempting to fix the public perception of the brand after the $140 million fine it faced in 2022.
