Kayak Filter Allows Users to Avoid Booking Boeing 737 Max Planes
|
All this recent talk about Boeing 737 Max planes has gotten me so paranoid that it's now a habit to check what kind of plane I’ll be on when booking. I’ve never known so much about aircraft models up until this point.
Addressing traveler concerns, Kayak has revamped its booking site with a feature that allows users to filter flight searches by aircraft, specifically focusing on 737 MAX 8 and MAX 9 models. Initially introduced in March 2019, the tool saw a substantial increase in usage after the Alaska Airlines door plug incident on January 5.
✈️ What if I already booked my flight?
Travelers who’ve already booked their flights can find the assigned aircraft on FlightAware by entering the flight number or airport codes to access the information. Google Flights is another option where travelers can input the exact time and date of their upcoming flight to learn about the assigned aircraft for a more detailed overview.
While most major US airlines do not charge cancellation fees when travelers change their minds, they typically pay the fare difference for a new flight. Basic economy tickets, however, may require a fee. For travelers who quickly want to change aircraft type, the Department of Transportation (DOT) permits free cancellations for nearly all US tickets.

We're all familiar with the excitement of successfully moving from the group chat to a flight—it's no small task and worth celebrating. However, this group of girls took their excitement to another level before taking off to Cancun.
They decided to toast to the trip with their own in-flight shots while taxiing, and a flight attendant swiftly caught wind of it and intervened. One girl mistakenly believed the flight attendant wanted to join in the shots and was quickly humbled.
Honestly, I can't be too judgmental because I do have some friends who lack a bit of decorum (love them anyway) and often seek forgiveness rather than permission. In any case, I'm just glad it was a harmless toast and not someone opening the emergency exit door to walk out onto the wing before takeoff.
