As I approach my 30s and slowly creep out of the trenches of my 20s, nothing gets me more excited than a vacation where I can participate in limited interaction with other people and escape the mundane routine of adulting in an overcrowded city.
I want to be so relaxed that I can hear each inhale and exhale. That’s why this list of the most tranquil cities in the world is my new bible.
In today’s edition:
Ranked: the best and worst tourist attractions
Destinations offering free trips
Frontier Airlines’ huge jackpot giveaway
May peace be with you,

The best (and worst) tourist attractions around the world
|
The best tourist attractions are like a good dream: unforgettable, inspiring, and leave you wanting more, while the worst ones are like a bad dream: overwhelming, disappointing, and leave you slightly traumatized.
Luckily, Stasher, a travel company that connects short-term visitors with local hotels and shops for secure luggage storage, they have identified the best and worst tourist attractions worldwide. Their analysts evaluated 99 global attractions, assigning each a score out of ten based on factors such as Google reviews, distance from the closest international airport, tourist safety, and TikTok popularity.
The 10 best tourist attractions in the world:
The Hungarian Parliament Building in Hungary
Disneyland Paris in France
The Blue Lagoon in Iceland
Plaza de Espana in Spain
Angkor Wat in Cambodia
St. Peter's Basilica in Italy
El Ateneo Grand Splendid in Argentina
Acropolis of Athens in Greece
Museum of New Zealand in New Zealand
Christ the Redeemer in Brazil
Although there were winners, not every tourist attraction fared well in the evaluation, with many scoring low due to overcrowding, filthiness, and concerns over safety. The Hollywood Walk of Fame took on all of these complaints, earning its title of the world's worst tourist destination, with a score of 3.42. Not at all surprising as I tell every tourist who comes to LA that it is not worth even a glimpse. See the rest of the 10 worst attractions here.
When it comes to tourist attractions, the best ones will give you memories to last a lifetime, while the worst ones will give you a lifetime of memories you'd rather forget. But, remember, every tourist attraction is subjective, and one man or woman’s trash is another’s treasure, so take these lists with a grain of salt.

The vacation destinations giving away free trips
|
When it comes to a trip, I’m going to take it free, or all expenses un-paid, which is how I usually take them. Thankfully destinations across Europe and Asia are offering travelers attractive financial incentives to visit and boost tourism to pre-pandemic levels.
Destinations like Sicily, Finland, Hong Kong, and Taiwan are giving away free flights, hotel accommodations, excursions, and even cash to lure in travelers. While this sounds like a scam, we promise you it's definitely not.
How to score a free trip:
Sicily is reviving its "See Sicily" travel promotion for 2023, offering visitors a free extra night at an affiliated hotel when travelers book three nights, as well as 50% off a flight or ferry ride to the island and a free local excursion. Bookings must be made through a local travel agency for this promotion. The flight discount is only applicable for trips departing before September 30, and the maximum discount is 100€ for domestic flights and 200€ for international flights.
Taiwan announced that $165 will be given to 500,000 visitors, while 90,000 tour groups receive $658. The initiative will launch on April 15, but the logistics of distributing the cash vouchers are still being finalized. Taiwan also launched a two-for-one deal on high-speed rail tickets for international tourists, with discounts on accommodations, site attraction tickets, and shopping.
Other countries like Finland, which has been ranked the world’s happiest country for the fifth year in a row, are choosing 10 lucky applicants to attend a four-day "masterclass in happiness" this summer at the Kuru Resort.
Hong Kong is also giving 500,000 free plane tickets to visitors around the world, with a portion reserved for US travelers.

Frontier Airlines announces a progressive mileage jackpot giveaway
|
Frontier Airlines has come up with a new way to get passengers excited about flying again: a mileage giveaway called "Lott-o Miles, Pick 5." In this promotion, lucky winners can earn five million miles in total (yes, five million). It's like playing the lottery, but instead of winning a few dollars and a pack of gum, you could be jet-setting around the world at your leisure.
How do I enter the giveaway?
Travelers interested in participating in the giveaway can visit the official website and select five animals before each of the five drawings. A jackpot of one million miles will be given to a sole winner if their entry matches the winning combination, but if multiple entries match, the prize will be split among all winners.
If no one wins in Frontier's drawing, the one million miles will be added to the next drawing, resulting in a combined prize of two million miles, and so on. Each person is allowed to submit one entry per drawing.
The first live draw is scheduled for 2 pm EST on March 29, followed by the next four draws on March 31, April 3, April 5, and April 7. Live footage of the events will be accessible on Frontier's social media profiles, and the winners will receive an email notifying them if they win.
Winners will need to enroll in Frontier Miles membership to redeem miles, and for each drawing, a new submission is necessary within the specified contest timeframe. If none of the draws have a winner, one will be randomly selected from the jackpot entries on the fifth day.
Is it worth entering? To give you an idea of what one million Frontier miles can get you, know that an average roundtrip within the US costs about 20,000 Frontier miles. So, one million miles = about 50 flights. You've got nothing to lose but, if you're lucky, you could get 50+ trips out of it.
