JetBlue Introduces New Seat Fees in Economy
|
As JetBlue aims to boost its revenue, customers are bearing the brunt, finding themselves shelling out more money. If you're planning to book your next flight with the airline, be aware that JetBlue recently introduced a new seat-assignment fee named "Core Preferred."
This fee applies to aisle and window seat assignments in preferred locations, such as the front of the exit row. Despite offering the same economy experience as regular seats, these seats only guarantee proximity to the front of the plane, with no other obvious benefits, except for quicker deplaning.
💺 What’s the new fee?
Core Preferred seat costs vary, with examples starting from $10 for a Boston to Los Angeles flight, $21 for New York to West Palm Beach, and up to $49 for a New York to Paris flight.
Core Preferred seats come with seat back TVs and power outlets, and they are complimentary for Mosaic elite members. The fee is unrelated to distance and is separate from Even More Space. Like many other airlines, if only paid seat assignments are available when booking, JetBlue provides a complimentary seat during check-in or at the airport.
